................................................................................

Overhand knot

14. Make a loop and pass the working end through it. Pull the ends to tighten the knot.

................................................................................

Plain loop

15. Trim the wire 3/8 in. (lcm) above the top bead. Make a right-angle bend close to the bead.

16. Grab the wires tip with your round nose pliers. Roll the wire to form a half circle. Release the wire.

17. Reposition the pliers in the loop and continue rolling, forming a centered circle above the bead.

18. The finished loop.

................................................................................

Wrapped loop

19. Make sure you have at least 1 1/4in. (3.2cm) of wire above the bead. With the tip of your chain nose pliers, grasp the wire directly above the bead. Rend the wire (above the pliers) into a right angle.

20. Using round nose pliers, position the jaws vertically in the bend.

21. Bring the wire over the top jaw of the pliers.

22. Keep the jaws vertical and reposition the pliers lower jaw snugly in the loop. Wrap the wire down and around the bottom of the pliers. This is the first half of a wrapped loop.

23. Position the chain nose pliers jaws across the loop.

24. Wrap the wire tail around the wire stem, covering the stem between the loop and the top bead. Trim the excess wrapping wire and press the end close to the wraps with chain nose or crimping pliers .

................................................................................

Wrapping above a top-drilled bead

25. Center a top-drilled bead on a 3-in. (7.6cm) piece of wire. Bend each wire upward to form a squared-off "U" shape.

26. Cross the wires into an "X" above the bead.

27. Using chain nose pliers, make a small bend in each wire so the ends form a right angle.

28. Wrap the horizontal wire around the vertical wire as in a wrapped loop. Trim the excess wrapping wire.
