Hello girlybead
any silver gradually darkens and becomes less shiny in time. This happens because silver undergoes a chemical reaction with sulfur containing substances which you can find in the air. You can use chemistry to reverse the tarnishing reaction, and make the silver shiny again. My suggestion would be to keep your jewelry in a closed box or container, if you keep it away stored in an air sealed box, oxygen will not hit your silver and your silver will look shiny and new :)
as for what kind of chemicals you can use, im not to sure on that, maybe someone can give you suggestions on the brand and where you can purchase themfrom. Good luck ;) |
